Miami is the right node for a very specific kind of community: one with players spread across the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the north of South America. A large share of Latin America's international traffic physically passes through Miami's internet exchange points, which is why a server there often gives a mixed group a better average ping than a server inside any one of their countries. This page tells you what latency to expect city by city, what is included, how people from Mexico and Latin America pay, and when Miami is not the node you want.
Who Miami is for
If your players are in Florida, Georgia, Texas or anywhere in the US South, Miami is simply close: 5-50 ms on most connections. The more interesting case is the bilingual community: a Discord with people in Houston and Monterrey, Orlando and San Juan, Atlanta and Bogotá. Hosting in Dallas or Virginia leaves the Latin American half at 90-130 ms; hosting in Mexico or Colombia leaves the US half far away and usually behind weaker international links. Miami puts almost everyone in the 20-110 ms band.
It is also the node where our Mexican customers end up, because from Mexico City, Guadalajara or Monterrey the route to Miami is shorter and cleaner than to most "Mexico" nodes, which in practice are often routed through Texas anyway. We publish the numbers below so you can decide with data rather than with a map.
What is in the Miami node
Same hardware policy as every other location: dedicated CPUs with high per-core clocks and no artificial CPU caps, dedicated RAM, NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage and DDoS protection on the network. We do not oversell nodes, and each new server is placed on the Miami node with the least load at that moment. That is the unglamorous part of a spec sheet, and the part you notice at 9 pm on a Friday when every server on the machine is full.
You pick the location in the cart. If you later find that most of your players moved west or to Europe, support can move the server to Los Angeles, Canada or France; the world and config travel with it.
Paying from the US, Mexico or Latin America
From the United States: card, PayPal or crypto, billed in USD, same price on renewal. From Mexico: the site switches to pesos and you can pay with OXXO cash, Mercado Pago, bank transfer, card or PayPal. From Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela and the rest of the region: card with international purchases enabled, PayPal, bank transfer or cryptocurrency, billed in USD. We do not yet have PSE, Nequi, Yape or other local wallets; if that is your only option, open a ticket before giving up and we will look at it case by case.
When Miami is not the right node
If everyone is on the US West Coast or in Baja California, pick Los Angeles. If everyone is in the US Northeast or Eastern Canada, pick Canada. If your community is European, pick Roubaix. And if your whole community sits in Argentina, Chile or Brazil and the server is competitive PvP, a host with a node in São Paulo, Santiago or Buenos Aires will feel better than Miami: from Buenos Aires you will see 120-160 ms here, and that is noticeable in melee combat. We say it before you pay, not after.
