NeoForge

Minecraft NeoForge server hosting

Where modern modded Minecraft lives: ATM10, Prominence II and the 26.x line, with the right Java out of the box.

What's included in your server

Same hardware and same features on every plan. The only thing that changes when you upgrade is the RAM.

Fast per-core CPU

A Minecraft server runs its main loop on a single thread, so what matters is how fast one core is, not how many you get. Our nodes use high-clock dedicated CPUs with no artificial CPU caps, and each new server lands on the node with the least load.

Dedicated RAM

The RAM on your plan is yours, not shared with the neighbors. Upgrade to a bigger plan at any time without losing the world or the config.

NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage

World saves and chunk loading hit the disk directly. NVMe removes the micro-stutter you get on hosts that still run SATA SSDs or oversold storage.

One-click backups

Take a backup from the panel before updating a modpack or trying a new plugin, and restore it with one click if something breaks.

Full Pterodactyl panel

Live console, file manager, SFTP, backups, subdomains, task scheduler and a one-click modpack installer. No features locked behind a bigger plan.

24/7 support on Discord

Real people, no ticket templates. We are a Mexican team and we are bilingual: support answers in English and in Spanish, so a mixed community gets help in both languages.

NeoForge is where most modded Minecraft moved after 1.20.1: All the Mods 10, the newer Cobblemon packs, Prominence II and most packs built for 1.21 and the 26.x line run on it. It is a fork of Forge with the same idea and a different, faster-moving codebase, which means two practical things for a server: it needs a recent Java (21, and 25 for 26.x), and Forge mods do not run on it. Hardly any host has a page for it; we run it every day.

NeoForge versus Forge, in one minute

Both load the same kind of mods, but they are not interchangeable: a mod built for Forge 1.20.1 will not load on NeoForge 1.20.4, and a pack built on NeoForge will not run on Forge. The rule is simple: use what your pack was built for. For 1.20.1 and older that is Forge; for 1.20.2 and newer it is almost always NeoForge. The modpack installer follows the pack, so you rarely have to choose by hand.

NeoForge tracks the game faster. The 26.x releases of Minecraft are supported on NeoForge with Java 25, and most pack authors publish NeoForge builds first. If you want current content, this is the loader.

Java and startup

NeoForge for 1.20.2-1.20.4 runs on Java 17; 1.20.5 to 1.21.x on Java 21; 26.x on Java 25. The server is installed with the NeoForge installer (--installServer) and started through run.sh, with the RAM in user_jvm_args.txt. The panel sets the Java image and the start file when you pick NeoForge or install a pack; if you upload a server pack by hand, make sure the Java image matches or the server will stop before loading mods.

What a modern pack needs from the hardware

Packs on NeoForge tend to be the big ones: 250-400 mods, several dimensions, automated farms. That is pure per-core CPU work. Give the pack what it asks for in RAM (8 GB for medium packs, 10-16 GB for kitchen-sink packs) and then look at the CPU, because 16 GB on a shared, oversold core still crawls. Our nodes run dedicated CPUs with no usage caps and NVMe, and we do not oversell them.

Take a backup from the panel before every pack update. Updating a modpack is the single most common way to lose a world.

Frequently asked questions

Do Forge mods work on NeoForge?

No. They are separate loaders with separate mod builds. Use the loader your pack was built for; for 1.20.2 and newer that is usually NeoForge.

Which Java does NeoForge need?

Java 17 for 1.20.2-1.20.4, Java 21 for 1.20.5-1.21.x, Java 25 for the 26.x line. The panel sets it when you pick NeoForge or install a pack.

Can I install All the Mods 10 or Prominence II in one click?

Yes. Both are on CurseForge and the installer handles the server files, NeoForge and Java. First boot takes several minutes with that many mods; that is normal.

How much RAM for a NeoForge pack?

8 GB for medium packs, 10-16 GB for kitchen-sink packs with 300+ mods, more if you run several dimensions with many players. The RAM calculator gives a figure.

Can NeoForge run behind a Velocity network?

Yes, with a proxy-compatibility mod on the backend and a higher read-timeout on the proxy. The network guide covers it step by step.

Do you migrate my NeoForge server?

Yes, free: world, mods, configs and the exact loader version, with a backup first.
